Walking into the city of Perth 2014 was the beginning of a life changing event. I noticed that there was an increase in the numbers of those experiencing homelessness, many sitting on the crossover from the Art Gallery begging. I began sitting with them to get a little insight into the lives of those doing it tough. It was then I decided to do something to make a I was inspired to form Perth Homeless Support Group.
Over the past 6 years the not-for-profit charity has played a major roll in offering support and comfort to over 11,000 people in crisis with food, blankets, sleeping bags and now into the part of hampers to those in the risk of homelessness. I have held the position of President for all of that time and very much loved the opportunity to work alongside of some like-minded and amazing people.
Aaron McGregor and his wife become involved in the volunteering roles during 2017 and I quickly saw the passion and drive they both had. We have just had our 7th AGM and it was a privilege to be able to nominate Aaron for the position of President which he accepted.
